the story of G&K paranormal's start

In the past my co-founder Ghost Hunter Kim and I both have had paranormal experiences. She lived in and still lives in a haunted house just not the same one. She went on ghost hunts when she was young with her friends. In the house she grew up in things would move by them self’s and she could sense things. She told me about one night she was having a fight with her ex-husband and a glass vase flew of the shelf went between them and smashed. As for me when I was a child I would drive my mother crazy with seeing thing around the house that she could not see. I would have visions of things that would happen in the near future. This happened enough for her to take notice. I don’t remember most of this. The only time I can remember is about a week before my uncle died I had a dream that was very real, in the dream I saw a brown coffin with a gold cross with 2 gold rings on it but I could not see who was in the coffin.  About ten days later at the funeral he was lad to rest in that same coffin with the gold cross. No one else knew about the dream. As I grew up I kind of lost the ability to see thing but at times I can still feel things and from time to times I still have some dreams that are way too real. The first time I got into helping others with paranormal problems was in the late 80s. Some friends had some strange things going on at there place. There was not much in the way of scientific research equipment at the time. The only way was feeling based investigation. Wile I was able to help a little the research was slippery slope and the more I got in, the farther I was pushed toward the darker occult side of investigation that was not for me. I started to see more and more evil things. It was not long before I was in over my head dealing with very evil things. Lucky for me I have always had a very big faith in God and Angels. I was saved when I was a little boy and still call Jesus a friend. This comes in handy when you are in dark places both out in the world and in your mind. With gods help I put most of the Ghost Hunting behind me. I still felt things but I stopped looking for trouble. Then one day Kim & I were watching one of the paranormal shows we talked about your experiences and haunted houses.  Well Kim tells the story of the little boy from Moundsville Prison better than me.

Back in the fall of 2009 My Boyfriend George R. and I were talking about haunted houses. I told him that I had never been to a commercial haunted house. We had been involved in the paranormal for years and he said if you’re going to a haunted house you might as well go to one that’s really haunted. He started to tell me about the prison’s history how it was built in 1865 after the civil war and how it was an active prison till 1995. He told me about the 998 deaths in the prison, 94 of them were executions by the state both by hanging and the electric chair. I did some research on my own and found it was a prison with a long history of abuse of the prisoners by guards as well as from other inmates. There was a lot of pain seen inside those walls. He had always wanted to go to there haunted house so when he got tickets for Halloween night I was not surprised. About a month later we drove down to Moundsville WV. The prison is huge and looks like an old castle. There was just an eerie feeling about the place and a sense of excitement. Our time to go threw the haunted house was at 9:45 pm so when we got there we started to take some photos in the fenced in part of the outside yard. I took some of him by a tree and he took some of me by the big wall. At the time we didn’t think much about them. The inside of the prison was very eerie it was cold and full of noises like the slamming of cell door and screams. I think most of not all were from the haunted house. There was a weird feeling but the people from the house just kind of pushed you threw the prison kind of fast. Parts of the prison were eerier than most but the one gate on the way out just plain stopped you in your tracks there was a great feeling of dread it was very cold in that spot, like every bit of heat was being pulled out of your body. We did not get a chance to take any photos inside the prison. That night we went back to the hotel where we stayed at as Moundsville is over a hundred mile away from home. He was looking at the photos and found something interesting. He showed me a photo with a strange ORB in it. He blew it up and lighted the photo in his camera there looked like there was a face in the ORB. There was also a photo of me with what looked like old mans head in it. The photos were the best I had seen. We tried to find a paranormal group to show the pictures to, but everyone we found just didn’t know anything real about the paranormal. Most were just people who had seen Ghost Hunters on TV and thought it would be fun. George found a group that did know something so we joined the group. We showed them the photos from Moundville, hell George showed the photo to everyone the paper boy, the mail man, you name it he showed it. One friend looked at the photo of the ORB and looked at us and said “why are you looking at the ORB? You should be looking at the little boy on the other side”. Well he was stunned even I was amazed. A short time after this, the Group we were in split because of differences in the group some members were more into fame than doing paranormal research. After that George and I were talking about the lack of real scientific research groups. One thing led to another next thing you know we co-founded G&K Paranormal Investigation in Butler, Pa..

Since then we have seen a lot of change. There have been members that have come and gone, most were nice people but just didn’t get the idea that we are not a TV show. Everyone thinks paranormal investigation is like what you see on TV. But the TV shows have as much to do with real scientific investigation as” I love Lucy” did with real family life. Even when we had nine members, Kim & I still did most of big the investigations ourselves. When we set up an investigation all we herd was excuses “I’m too busy, I’m tired, that’s too expensive, I’m scared of the location” and my personal favorite “I have a booty call”. When most of the others left to form a new Ghost Hunting Group. We were kind of hurt but not everyone is able to do real investigations. Doing scientific investigations can be hard and boring; a scientific Investigation is more than just using cameras and EMF detectors. Real Scientific Investigation is more CSI than Ghost Adventures. At the same point anybody can Ghost Hunt all you need to do is go to a place you think is haunted. Walk around in the dark, take pictures and wait to be scared. You don’t really have to care about the evidence you get since you don’t really have much creditability in the first place it’s more about having fun. At G&K our main focus is the evidence, we take great care in what we post on the site because once you lose your creditability it’s not something you get back. We try to think of it this way, would the evidence you collect stand up in court. That is the main reason we don’t use the data found by the use of feeling based investigation. Its not that we can’t do it, it’s that you can’t prove it. Most importantly we don’t fake evidence in anyway period. That is hard for some, as for the ones that left the group I say good luck but I’m not sure if we would want them back. We have decided to keep the group small and we are now pickier about new members. As we look to the future there is always an underlining goal of finding the truth about the paranormal world. The rest of the history of G&K is still to come.
