What has TV ghost hunting brought us?

What started out as fill for show like unsolved mysteries. Has become one of the biggest cash cows in the Entertainment Business. Almost every station has a show that deals with the paranormal. People have made millions Ghost hunting or should we say pretending to do investigations. Anyone who has been in the field even for a week knows the stuff you see in the shows is just not real. All you see is them running around scared or just working for a few hours but they always find some thing every time out. Real Paranormal Investigation is slow and most of the time very boring. It’s mostly going over days  and days of pictures, audio and video. Most of the time there’s nothing to find. But that’s all part of doing it the scientific way. It’s all about trying to keep your credibility. The TV shows don’t need any credibility, people still watch. They have brought a large interest in the paranormal, everyone want to hunt ghosts.  There a lot of historic site that now charge a small fortune to come spend the night at there location. Even Gettysburg makes as much money from ghosts as they do from history. People now want to goto grave yards more at night than in the daylight. There in is one of the problems. I have seen a lot of cemeteries damaged in the last few years, BOOs  and booze  just  don’t mix.  First off I’m not saying every one who watches these shows and goes out ghost hunting is a bunch of vandals out to destroy the world. And I’m not saying you need a PHD in paranormal investigation to go out either ( there is no PHD in the paranormal and no real certification.) (but if you send me 5 hundred dollars in small unmarked bills, I by the power invested in me by no one  make you an expert in the paranormal(I’m just kidding please don’t send money)). We just need to respect the living, the dead and the places that we go. Now as for the people making money hand over fist there have always been this type of people and there always will be. If you think that if you spend a grand to stay in a haunted place you are guaranteed to see some thing paranormal, you have a lot to learn. But if you go with the thought that these sites are more about entertainment and trying to keep these places open, but I still don’t think I would pay a grand to spend the night. There are a lot of ways to get ripped off in the paranormal world. Snake oil salesmen selling things that just don’t work. Paranormal Starter kits that give you very little for a way too big price. Paranormal conferences  with the host of  TV shows or Special  Investigations with the TV Shows hosts and a hundred other people most of witch are paying over two hundred ( just think 100 X 200 that’s a lot of money just to take a walk with a group of people) I guess what I’m trying to say in the end  is  that Tv shows are Entertainment but it comes as a two sided sword . It can help show what we do and helps save historical places. On the other side it causes a lot of damage and makes people think it’s all just fun & games
