2010/07/01-03 Gettysburg civil war battlefield trip

On  the 2nd of july Ghost Hunter Kim and myself did a civil war,  Historical & Paranormal field trip to gettysburg

This was our first chance to visit the historic battlefields of Gettysburg, Pa. Ghost Hunter Kim & I have lived in Pa for well over 20 years, she more than I being born in Pa. I have always had a love of history & science. I think just about everyone has heard the story of Gettysburg the three day battle in the start of July in 1863 in the depths of the civil war. The two of us planed to leave early on the second and get there in the afternoon as it’s a 6 hour trip from butler. Kim said on the night of the first let’s go tonight there will be less traffic. This being a great idea we left at 11:00 PM. The trip down was maybe the best trip I have been on as we took turns driving. We got into Gettysburg at about 5:00 AM. On the way down into Gettysburg on route 30 just passed cashtown inn I thought I saw a confederate solder standing in the middle of the road Kim was a sleep I tried to wake her but it was gone. We drove through town and found that the battle field didn’t open till 6 AM so we got gas and tried to take a nap but I was like a kid on Christmas morning and could not sleep. When it opened we took the driving tour around when we got to big round top I got out Kim did not feeling well stayed in the car to sleep. I climbed to the top where Joshua Chamberlain defended the end of the union line on July 2nd in 1863. There I was on the same ground on the same day 147 years later all by myself. (Yes I know its breaks one of my biggest rules not going alone I had no choice Kim could not have climbed thee hill and I had a camcorder and a digital voice recorder recording) On top it was very still I took some pictures of what looked like bullet holes in a tree and did an EVP session. At one point I thought I herd a horse snort right behind me ( I didn’t hear it on the video or audio recordings but you could hear me talk about hearing it) On the very top I turned to see a vulture staring at me I walked over and it flue a way. After that we went too little round top and devil’s den. Since no one was around I was able to take Reg. & IR photos and EVPs using my monopod pole with both the IR & Sony Digital cameras taking photos at the same time. Some of those photos are below. Kim was still feeling sick so we went to check into our hotel in Scotland about 26 miles away. The hotel was great letting us check in early so Kim could rest for a wile. We drove back to Gettysburg for lunch at the Farnsworth house. We took a horse drawn carriage ride of the town.  After that we went back to the battle field and drove back down Confederate Ave I took a lot of photos with my double camera system. Kim again felt sick so I took her back to the hotel and after her begging me I returned to the battle field. I climbed all three towers to take pictures & video of the battle field from on top. In the late afternoon there were more people on the fields but I was still able to take pictures. At dust I spent most of my time at Devil’s Den and Little Round Top. I tried to visit triangular field but there were more people in that field at that time than there were in the battle its self. I returned to the hotel to check on Kim. Below are some of the photos.

On the Third Kim and I drove back into Gettysburg to get an historical style photo from one of the stores. We went to the Pike restaurant after Kim stayed there and I went to the visitor’s center for a few hours then later after I picked up Kim we drove through the battle field. On the 3rd there was tens of thousands of people all over the battle field maybe more than was at the battle it’s self in 1863. With Kim still sick we drove back to Butler.
