2010/05/30 Moundsville Prison

    On May 30th of 2010 Ghost Hunter Kim & I went back to Moundsville Prison for a special investigation with Jeff Ostrander. He is an investigator from Canada with over ten years in paranormal research .This was a real investigation of the prison. Not a dog & pony show like what Taps and Paranormal State did in the passed. When we got to Moundville the first thing we did was Kim and I went out to find white gate cemetery. White gate is the state run cemetery where the unclaimed dead of Moundsville prison were buried. Most of the prisoners killed by the state are in that cemetery. As is Fred Morgan a prisoner killed by guards in the prison on Sept. 5^th 1931. The Cemetery is a field running next to a small stream. When we were there the grass was very high. GHK & I walked across the small bridge to the gate, inside the graves are marked by small metal signs about 6 by 9 on a metal stake. The cemetery doses not hold all of the 998 deaths only the unclaimed ones. There is an uneasy feeling but nothing unexpected. After we left we went to Wal-Mart to kill some time as we didn’t have a hotel room for this trip. I found a 10 Meg Sony camera and bought it for use at the prison. After we had some of the new ribs at BK (they clamed they would be the best we would ever eat sadly they were wrong and it would have been cheaper to buy a full rack at a good rib place) When we got to the Prison Kim stayed outside to smoke as she would not be able to smoke for a long time as we don’t smoke on investigations. I went in and meet Jeff, he and I had been talking on the internet for some time but this was the first time we meet in person. We went to the command center set up in the family visitor’s room. Jeff uses 9 Sony high 8 camcorders wired to monitors in the C.C. that way he keeps the best quality of video evidence. We were part of a group of 20+ Investigators most from Canada.

        We split into three teams so we could cover different parts of the Prison. One group stayed at the C.C. watching the monitors keeping track and righting down everything they was. One of the others went to the Alamo to do EVPs. Our group went down to the sugar shack to investigate the place. GHK and I walked around doing EMF sweeps and taking video & pictures. Wile I did get some Orbs a one spot did have high EMF readings there were wires all over and we didn’t know which ones were live. One Lady said she felt some thing grab her over by the door. There were live bats flying all around the Prison all night. After an hour we went back to the C.C. Our group stayed in the C.C. as it was our turn to watch the monitors. My spot was watching the hall way to the cafeteria after not being able to see down the hall. Jeff & I set up some IR flashlights making it easier to see the door at the end of the hall. At the door to the cafeteria is where the famous photo the was seen on Ghost Hunters was taken. Wile I didn’t see the shadow person I did see an Orb go through the wall a number of times and was able to take a picture of it with a digital camera. After our turn at the C.C. The group Kim & I were in went down to the Alamo or the old High Security area to do EVPs. In the two other EVP sessions a woman’s name was found that we were able to use to try to talk to the sprit we thought might be Red Snyder who was killed by another prisoner. During the session we kept hearing noises out in the dining area for the prisoners. One of the other investigators & I went out to investigate. We did not see anything but I toke some pics on the way back I let the woman go first when we were almost back to the group. I felt some thing grab me on the left shoulder I spun around but there was nothing there. Later I checked the video tape but didn’t see anything not even a bat. After that hour our group went up to the infirmary I walked into a cold spot and had one spot that has a perfume smell, there were woman in the group but the smell didn’t seam to be there’s. Wile I was up stairs Ghost Hunter Kim was out in the Prison yard with the lady from the Prison. Kim toke a few photo and caught some thing very interesting (the photo is in our picture viewer page under Moundsville) After that we did and hour or two of open investigation though out the  Prison including both wagon gates, Red Snyder’s cell, R.W. Whal’s death site and the cafeteria (the photo is in our picture viewer page under Moundsville)
