We are Going to help with an investigation at Broughton School With The North Huntington Ghost Hunting Meetup Group. The schools grounds have a history death dating back to the 1930s and before. This is Not a full G&K Investigation but we are using our Equipment and Some of our members are going help setting up this investigation

History

When we got to the site we did a walk though with Don the Building Co-owner. He gave us the short history of the school and land. That land is where part of the whiskey rebellion was fought in the 1800s. It is also was where there was a shoot out, that happened at the old school (now the play ground below the school) during a miners strike in 1928 wile the children were at school. In 1929 the old School was torn down and new one was built where it stands today and renamed the Broughton School. It was open till 2000 when it was closed by School Board. It was for the most part abandoned for ten years till Don and his Co-owner bought it. There have been three confirmed deaths on the site of the school one hanging most likely suicide, one suicide unknown cause of death and one murder by stabbing during second mine strike . There were deaths due to the flu and small pox in the area but they are not confirmed to be at the school. During the walk though Don told us he thought the janitor had died in the school but this is unconfirmed. Second source of history still needed.

Structure

The Building had no power and no heat of its own, so propane heater and generator was used for the control center set up in the old library. The layout of the school is simple a long rectangular box with two floors of rooms on either side of the main hall ways with the Gym on one and the library on the other, with the boiler room under the library end. Most of the school was run down with paint peeling in the halls and in the rooms and most windows were broke by vandals or boarded up to prevent them from being broke. There are 4 rooms that are very clean for no reason as the school has been closed for ten years. The one class room is as clean as the day the school closed there is no dust on anything in the room from the ceiling fans to the floor. The paint still looks fresh but has not been repainted for there is no smell of new paint. Chalk boards are also very clean but are the same as all the rest in the building and have not been replaced. The flooring is same type and style as rest of school but looks as good a the day the school closed, most other flooring is damaged and coming up. All desks in the room are clean and in perfect rows. There is no smell of cleaning products any where in the room. The three bathrooms are the same way. The tile is spotless and was checked by hand and with UV lights no residue at all was found. The mirrors look like new with no finger prints, no dust, rust or patina seen in metal but none look like they have been replaced. The sinks are clean except for dry soap from the dispensers. All the stalls are clean as well. This is the same for the other two bathrooms. I have not seen bathrooms this clean in brand new schools. The Doors in the school are still in working order and seam to be in balance and don’t swing open or closed on there own without light hand pressure. The Gym is large and still in good condition.

Equipment Setup & Base Readings

Investigation setup we used the library for our control center. We setup our DVR with 4 IR cameras on a table by door with Cam1 in the second class room on left on the second floor. Cam2 at the top of the stair in the second floor hallway. Cam3 at the door in first floor hallway. Cam4 in the special education rooms. Cam5 IR camera with sound hooked into a DVD recorder was used in the control center to help record data of what happened on site and act as record of investigation time line. A parabolic microphone with voice recorder was setup static at the same spot as Cam2 as let run for 10 hrs. We did a base EMF sweep without generator on and found no EMF fields present this is common in a location with no power. With power on only fields were in library near equipment again common. Base temperature was set at 30 degrees and dropped to 25 degrees outside the inside temp. stayed around 30 degrees

Pre Investigation

When the other investigators showed up we did a group walk though to show everyone the location and the danger point’s broken glass etc. We did note some cold spot, mists and orbs but since there was no heat in building and it was very cold all were discarded as evidence same as orbs in dusty location with people walking through. In last class room of left of the second floor I believe room 216 most of the group got the smell of flower perfume same as when we did on the first walk with Don about 6 hrs earlier as that time the smell moved around in the room. Down is the boiler room one investigator reported hearing a voice that was picked up in an EVP and being touched but that can not be used as evidence but is notable as P.E.

Investigation

For the investigation we broke in to three teams of three and one team of two staying at the CC. We sent one 3 person team to the Gym and one team to first rooms on second floor with the last team in the special ED rooms. We did this so all teams could do EVP sessions with out picking up the other teams. All teams had P.E. Ron on the team from the Gym had his head light ripped of his head down on the stairs by the Gym, this was seen by two teams. So we can use this as possible Evidence even though it was not captured in camera. After the teams got warn and went over what happened. We mixed up the teams and sent teams to boiler room, Gym and first floor . again all teams had P.E. but in the boiler room EVPs were captured and most of the team had seen shadows move a long one wall and felt touched. Photos were taken, some need more review and possible reproduction. After the teams got warn and went over what happened. We mixed up the teams and send the teams back out this time we did both floor starting at opposite ends and sent a team backs the boiler room. This time we got photo of something at the top of stairs by the Gym and more EVPs as well as other P.E. After the teams got warn and went over what happened. We mixed up the teams and went to the last spots need to be covered . After that we did open investigation so the investigator could go to any location they wanted as long as it was in groups of two or more. After all investigation was done we packed up equipment at 4:30 AM. We did the last walk through closing all doors and locking building per Don’s instructions

Findings

After careful review of evidence collected at the location on Jan. 15^th 2011 and including but not limited to personal experiences had by all investigators on site. It is our belief that the School located at 935 Schang RD. dose have some form of Paranormal Activity present. As things are happening outside the range of normal scientific explanation. We all feel more study of this location is needed and fallow up investigation will be planed for some time in late spring or early summer of 2011.
