Why do some ghosts look like a real person and some are just a mist?

    I think it comes down to how much energy a ghost has to use , A simple way to look at it is a ghost is like a flashlight. When the batteries have a full charge a flashlight can shine for a long distance and look great, when the batteries discharge the flashlight gets dimmer and dimmer till you can just barely see the light. Even when the batteries are fully discharged it still is a flashlight. When some thing comes along to recharge the batteries it gets brighter. And like a flashlight it can be turned on & off to save the batteries. that also why a house or building can have no activity for years then start up again.

I know there are more scientific ways to explain this but I hope this helped you understand why & how ghost show up
